Olivia Keays has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Olivia began their career in 2011 as an Assistant Curator at Cultural Expressions, where they were responsible for inventory, sales, curation, set up, office work, and customer service. In 2014, they worked as a Poll Clerk for Elections Ontario during the provincial election. Olivia'sresponsibilities included validating a person's identity and address, locating them on the list, handing them the ballot, and ensuring it was entered properly into the ballot box for counting.
In 2014, they also worked as a Staff Counselor at Children at Risk, where they provided counseling services. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Causeway Work Centre as a Program Facilitator for the Solutions for Youth program. Olivia assisted youth with various barriers in learning employability and life skills, including job development and job coaching during their placements.
In 2017, Keays worked as a Life Skills Coach at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Olivia then joined Attendant Services at Carleton University as a Personal Care Attendant from 2014 to 2018. In 2019, they became the Sexuality and Disability Education Coordinator at Planned Parenthood Ottawa. Olivia'srole focused on coordinating education programs related to sexuality and disability.
Keays joined Spark Lifecare in 2019 and held multiple roles within the company. Olivia started as a Relationships and Sexuality Care Specialist and later became a Registered Social Worker. Currently, they serve as the Director of Social Work in the same organization. Additionally, in 2021, they worked as a COVID-19 Team Lead/Case Manager at Ontario Ministry of Health.
In 2020, Keays worked as a Residential Developmental Worker at CHAMOMILE ASSISTED LIVING LTD. Olivia'sresponsibilities included providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Olivia Keays has a strong educational background in the field of Social Work. Olivia earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Carleton University, completing their studies from 2018 to 2020. Prior to their graduate studies, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the same university, focusing on Human Rights with a double minor in Sexuality Studies and Film Studies, which they accomplished from 2011 to 2015.
In addition to their academic achievements, Olivia has obtained several certifications that enhance their expertise in their field. Olivia completed Person Centred Counselling at the Chris Worfolk Psychology/Udemy in July 2021. In 2017, they acquired certifications in Collaborative Practice and Family Centred Care, as well as Pediatric Rehabilitation Principles from Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Furthermore, they completed a training on Managing Emotion (DYS) Regulation for Youth with Concurrent Disorders at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre in January 2017.
Olivia also holds certifications in AODA Employment Standards and Customer Service Training from Carleton University (obtained in 2014) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) from Livingworks Education USA (obtained in 2013). Moreover, they are a certified Master Social Worker and Clinical Social Worker through the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, having obtained these titles in July 2021.
To further highlight their dedication to their field, Olivia is certified in First Aid/CPR C by the Canadian Red Cross, having completed this training in May 2017. With a combination of academic excellence and a range of specialized certifications, Olivia Keays possesses the knowledge and skills required to excel in the field of Social Work.
