Dr. Juan Flores Preciado is a Principal Engineer specializing in Surface Engineering at SpaceX, where responsibilities include developments in Space Tribology, aesthetic and functional surfaces, thermal barrier coatings, and corrosion protection. Prior to SpaceX, Dr. Flores Preciado held positions as Principal Materials Engineer and Senior Materials Engineer at Solar Turbines, focusing on protective coatings for high-temperature environments. As Lead Materials Scientist at GE Global, contributions were made to advanced materials research for various industries including Nuclear and Power Generation. Dr. Flores Preciado's academic background includes a PhD in Corrosion and Materials Science from the University of Leeds and extensive research experience, along with involvement in NACE International and Marie Curie Fellows Association.
