Bianca Cefalo has a diverse background in the space and aerospace industry. Bianca began their career in 2009 as a CFD Analyst Trainee at DIAS - University of Naples 'Federico II' where they conducted CFD numerical assessments of innovative internal cooling channels with distributed square rib turbulators. In the same year, they became Vice Team Leader and Aerodynamics Division Leader at UniNa Corse - Squadra Corse Federico II where they arranged and coordinated a team of more than 30 students. In 2013, they became a CFD Engineer Intern at Active Space Technologies GmbH where they conducted CFD numerical investigations of the aerothermodynamics effects of the Martian Dust Devil wind. In 2014, they joined Sonaca Space GmbH as a Thermal Engineer & Project Manager where they enabled the company to develop, qualify and implement disruptive thermal management systems on Next Generation Telecommunication Spacecraft. In 2018, they became Space Systems Thermal Product Manager - Telecoms at Airbus Group Inc. where they were the Technical Authority and Disruptive Innovator for Thermal Control Management Solutions on Telecommunication Satellites Mechanical Platform. In 2020, they joined Carbice Corporation as Director of Aerospace and Defense and Director, International Business Development - UK, US. Bianca also founded Cosmica Space Consulting Ltd in July 2020 as a consultancy activity aimed at the scientific dissemination and public awareness of the significant role that technological advancement in the Space sector plays on the evolution of the Human Species. In 2022, they became Co-Founder and CEO of Space DOTS\u00ae, a New Space tech startup with the mission of making space qualification of advanced materials faster, cheaper and simpler. Bianca also became a Space Entrepreneurship Mentor at EIIS - European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability.
Bianca Cefalo has an extensive education history. Bianca completed their MSc in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II from 2012 to 2016, and their BSc in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering at the same institution from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their degrees, Bianca has obtained several certifications, including a STEM Ambassador Badge in 2020 from STEM Learning UK, Engineering Project Management courses from Rice University in 2017, an ESATAN Thermal Modelling Suite - Advanced Course from ITP Engines UK Limited in 2017, an ESATAN Thermal Modelling Suite - Beginner Course from ITP Engines UK Limited in 2014, and a Safety training for the usage and handling of liquid nitrogen from BROSER GmbH, Berlin, Germany in 2014.
