Carter Chumley has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Starting in 2012, they held an internship position at Technology Integration Group. In 2013, they interned at WorldView Solutions. Carter then joined WorldView Solutions Inc in 2015 as a GIS Specialist. In 2018, they transitioned to Geographic Information Services, Inc. (GISinc) as a Solutions Engineer, specializing in data management and client relations. Carter also worked as a Solutions Engineer at Axim Geospatial, where they focused on data management and ETL for large Enterprise and Federal clients. Currently, in 2022, they work as a Sales Engineer at Sovrn.

Carter Chumley obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Studies and a Minor Degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Roanoke College, where they attended from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their college education, they also completed the Introduction to Cloud Infrastructure Technologies certification from The Linux Foundation in August 2021 and the Web Development Fundamentals Bootcamp from Nucamp Coding Bootcamp in August 2020.
