Carl Dobson, MD has extensive work experience in the medical field. Carl began their career as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in 2005, where they also served as the Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 2007 to 2012. In 2012, they joined Dartmouth-Hitchcock as a Medical Director and later took on the role of Emergency Medicine Physician. Carl also served as the Chief Medical Officer at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, responsible for clinical quality and patient safety across the system. Carl has been an Instructor of Emergency Medicine at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth since 2018. Additionally, they have worked as a Peer Reviewer at Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care, Inc. and served as the President of Vermont Medical Society from 2017 to 2018.
Carl Dobson, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from The University of the South in 1994. Carl then completed a Master of Science degree in Geology at the University of Wyoming from 1994 to 1996. In 1998, they received their MD from the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine. From 2002 to 2005, they attended the University of Virginia as a resident in Emergency Medicine. Carl Dobson, MD is also Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, obtained in 2006, and they received further certification in Emergency Medicine from the same institution in December 2016.
