Garrett Anderson has extensive work experience in engineering roles. From 2012 to present, they have been with Southwest Research Institute, where they started as a Research Engineer and progressed to Senior Research Engineer, Lead Engineer, and currently holds the position of Principal Engineer. In these roles, they have contributed to various projects such as rail decarbonization, fuel cell aging, battery electric locomotive demonstration, and control systems for dual-fuel engines. Prior to Southwest Research Institute, Garrett worked as an Engineer at Case New Holland from 2006 to 2010, focusing on hydraulic design and problem-solving for the tractor loader backhoe platform.
Garrett Anderson attended Texas A&M University from 2002 to 2006, where they pursued a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Later, in 2010 to 2011, they studied at The University of Texas at Austin but did not complete a degree.
