Rob Smith is a seasoned professional in the energy trading sector with extensive experience across various companies and roles. Currently serving as a Senior Term Trader at Southern Power since April 2020, Rob specializes in Southeast Power and Natural Gas, as well as ERCOT and MISO markets. Prior to this, Rob founded and managed Guardian Hedge Services and held executive positions at Compass Natural Gas focused on strategic sourcing, risk management, sales, and marketing. Rob's early career includes roles at Morgan Stanley as an Energy Trader for PJM and MISO, and a Business Development Manager at West Oaks Energy, along with significant experience at Deutsche Bank and NYISO, where responsibilities included day-ahead market operations. Rob began the professional journey with an internship at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama.
