Roy Danks, DO, FACOS, currently serves as the Medical Director of Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Medical Director at Southern Illinois Healthcare since September 2021. In addition to this role, Roy Danks holds the position of Brigade Commander in the United States Army Reserve since September 2023, contributing as a Colonel and Medical Officer in the Army Reserve since November 2007. Prior experience includes roles as Flight Surgeon with Bourbon Dustoff and Command Surgeon with Army Reserve Aviation Command. Roy Danks was an Assistant Professor and Course Director for Surgery at At Still University from January 2016 to May 2023, and served as a Trauma Surgeon and Surgical Intensivist at Research Medical Center. As Chief of Staff and Program Director of General Surgery Residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center, responsibilities included oversight of the residency program and resident education. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University and a General Surgery Residency from NE Regional Medical Center.
