Israel Alvarado is an experienced academic and researcher with a diverse background in the sciences. Currently serving as the Assistant Chair of Basic Sciences at Ponce Health Sciences University since January 2019, Israel also holds positions as an Adjunct Professor and Visiting Scholar at Southern California University of Health Sciences and as an Adjunct Professor at Harris-Stowe State University, Saint Xavier University, and Saint Thomas University. Prior experience includes roles such as Part-Time Instructor at the College of Southern Nevada and Laboratory Research Scientist at Touro University Nevada. Israel earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Integrative Physiology with a concentration in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from California State University San Marcos, and an Associate's degree in Biology from MiraCosta College.
