Gus Hernandez, MS, CPRP, serves as the Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Santa Fe Springs since December 2019, having previously held the position of Parks & Recreation Services Manager. In addition, Gus is involved with the California Park & Recreation Society as the Administrators Section Vice President and Secretary since March 2021, and has been a board member of the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF) since 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Community Services Supervisor for the City of Chino, Recreation Supervisor and Coordinator for the City of Huntington Park, and various positions at the City of Lynwood. Gus holds a Master of Science in Recreation & Tourism from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching from California State University-Dominguez Hills.
