Sara Spong

Assistant Professor, Counseling at Southeastern University

Sara Spong is an experienced academic and counselor currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Southeastern University since June 2024 and as a Counselor at Twin City Life Counseling, PLLC since June 2018. Prior to this, Sara held multiple roles at Salem Academy, including Assistant Head of School, Interim Dean of Students, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and Director of College Counseling from February 2019 to June 2024. Additional experience includes positions as Adjunct Faculty at Capella University and BRIDGES CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, High School Director at cfa Academy Concord, NC, and Teaching Assistant at Regent University. Sara's early career featured roles as College Counselor at Forsyth Country Day School and Counselor at Winston Salem First Assembly of God counseling center. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University and a Master of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University. A BA in Elementary Education was earned from Southeastern University.
