Flavia Xavier is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in innovation and technology development within the mining and minerals sector. Currently serving as Global Manager Innovation and Technology Development at South32 since June 2021, Flavia has held various leadership roles, including Program Director Technology Development. Prior experience includes positions at BHP as Operational Readiness Manager and Business Improvement Manager - Iron Ore, and project management roles at B&A Mineração. Flavia began their career at Vale, contributing significant expertise as Process Coordinator at Vale Energia Limpa and Process Engineer, responsible for engineering studies and pilot plant campaigns for copper and nickel projects. Flavia holds a Chemical Engineering degree and a Master’s in Hydrometallurgy from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, as well as a management specialization from Fundação Dom Cabral.
