Alex Volante is an experienced professional in corporate strategy and finance, currently serving as the Vice President of Strategy and New Markets at South32 since April 2015. In this role, Alex oversees the corporate strategy and leads the development of new downstream businesses focused on battery minerals products. Prior positions at South32 include Vice President of Battery Materials and Group Treasurer, where responsibilities encompassed managing treasury, investor relations, and corporate finance functions. Prior to joining South32, Alex held roles at GMP Securities as Director of Corporate Finance and at Euroz Hartleys Limited as Associate Director in Corporate Finance. Alex began a career in corporate finance and audit at Deloitte, progressing to Associate Director. Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from The University of Western Australia and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
