Alexis Alrich

Alexis Alrich is an experienced composer and music professional with a career spanning several decades. Since 1982, Alexis has worked as an independent music composer and producer, specializing in classical music, orchestral, vocal, and chamber compositions. Additionally, Alexis serves as a freelance classical music critic for South China Morning Post since September 2013. Between June 2007 and 2014, Alexis contributed to the John Adams Young Composers Program in various roles, including consultant and former director. In 2013, Alexis worked as a part-time accompanist at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts, providing piano support for ballet classes. Prior to this, from 1989 to 2007, Alexis was an instructor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, teaching music composition and theory. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Music Composition from Mills College and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from the California Institute of the Arts, along with foundational studies at the New England Conservatory of Music.
