Katharina Ebel has a diverse work experience in the humanitarian field. Katharina started their career in 2005 as a Journalist at KNA, where they worked as a photographer and editor covering NGO projects and international aid organizations. In 2012, they worked as a Corporate Security Officer at KfW. From 2013 to 2013, they served as a Security Adviser at Welthungerhilfe, providing guidance and training on security management.
Ebel then joined SOS Children's Villages International in 2014, where they held various roles including PR Specialist and Programme Director ERP Iraq. Katharina was responsible for project management, HR, safety and security, and media relations. Katharina also served as an Emergency Response Project Advisor in Syria.
More recently, Ebel has been working at SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit since 2018. Katharina has served as a Program Advisor and Safety and Security Manager, responsible for designing and implementing innovative projects in Africa. Katharina Ebel completed their education with a Master's degree, on a part-time basis, from AKNZ Akademie für Krisenmanagement, Notfallplanung und Zivilschutz, specializing in Katastrophenmanagement und Vorsorge. The four-year program took place between 2010 and 2014. Prior to this, Katharina attended the University of Duisburg-Essen to pursue a Diplom in Kommunikationsdesign, although no specific dates or completion information were provided for this degree.
