Cassio E. Santos Jr. has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their internship at Sisloc Softwares in 2009. Cassio then moved on to the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where they held an internship in the Department of Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering and a research assistant position at the Núcleo de Processamento Digital de Imagens. In 2013, they became a research assistant at Smart Sense Laboratory, and in 2015 they were awarded an LG Electronics Grant and continued their research assistant position at Smart Sense Laboratory. In 2016, they became a research assistant at the University of California, Riverside, where they were awarded a Dean's Distinguished Fellowship and worked at VisLab. Cassio also became the founder and sole developer of Delver Lab in 2016, and in 2018 they founded Sorting Robotics.
Cassio E. Santos Jr. attended Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Cassio then attended the same university from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science. In 2016, they began a PhD program at University of California, Riverside in Computer Science, but dropped out in 2018. In 2019, they attended Y Combinator's Winter 2019 Batch.
