Job Purpose  Our sales engineering organization is looking for a dynamic senior manager to lead a team of highly skilled sales engineers across ASEAN. This strategic role focuses on customer engagement, partner collaboration, and driving business outcomes. As the leader of this talented team, you’ll work closely with sales leadership and channel partners to understand customer needs, navigate complex sales cycles, deliver value-based solutions, and close deals.    Reporting to the Senior Director of APJ Sales Engineering, you’ll play a pivotal role in building, developing, and managing a high-impact field engineering team. 

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team - Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Engineers who are experts in product evaluation, technical demonstrations, and solution design.

  • Drive Strategic Sales Success
  • Partner with regional sales leadership to achieve quota and growth targets, ensuring strategic customer relationships are built and nurtured.
  • Shape Sales Strategy
  • Provide insights on market trends, product challenges, and competitive gaps. Represent your team’s needs and feedback to executive leadership.
  • Solve Complex Problems
  • Distil technical challenges into clear, actionable solutions while collaborating with sales, partners, and customers to craft winning strategies.

Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration - Build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Services to align on solution delivery and innovation.

  • Be a Hands-On Leader
  • Act as a player/coach, actively participating in customer engagements, delivering persuasive presentations, and modelling best practices for your team.

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of pre-sales experience, including 4+ years of management experience in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
  • Proven expertise in cybersecurity, including knowledge of endpoint/server protection, firewalls, threat management, incident response, and cloud security.
  • Technical fluency with modern data technologies such as DevOps tooling, containers, orchestration tools, and version control systems.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and C-level audiences.
  • Strong business acumen, connecting customer needs to value-driven Sophos solutions and services.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
