Andrea Valencia has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Andrea is currently the Director of BioPharma Business Development at SOPHiA GENETICS since February 2021. Prior to this, Andrea was the Clinical Program Manager at Freenome from September 2019 to December 2020. Andrea also worked as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager at Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. from November 2016 to September 2019. Before that, Andrea served as a Clinical Trial Manager at Merrimack from September 2015 to October 2016. Andrea began their career in the healthcare industry as a Study Management Associate II at AbbVie from June 2013 to August 2015. Andrea also gained valuable experience as a Clinical Research Nurse in Hematology/Oncology at Rush University Medical Center from March 2011 to May 2013. Prior to that, Andrea worked as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago from March 2009 to February 2011. Andrea started their professional journey as a Legal Operations Manager at Michael T. Cavanaugh, Law Firm from April 2006 to February 2009.

Andrea Valencia has a diverse education history. Andrea first attended Northern Illinois University from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. During the same period, they also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Italian Language and Literature from Northern Illinois University.

In 2012, Andrea pursued further education at Rush University, where they completed a Master's degree in Clinical Research Administration from 2012 to 2014.

Later, in 2016 and 2017, they attended Harvard Medical School to focus on Cancer Biology and Therapeutics. Although they did not obtain a specific degree, they successfully completed a Graduate Certificate in Cancer Biology and Therapeutics during this time.

Through their education journey, Andrea has developed a strong foundation in a variety of fields, including healthcare, language and literature, clinical research administration, and cancer biology and therapeutics.
