Javier Ramírez-Carril, a Venezuelan photojournalist born in 1973, has been the Director at ghetto | Photo Agency since March 2015. Javier's journey began in Venezuela and took him to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where studies in systems were completed. Following a 15-year stay in Argentina, a relocation to Panama occurred for work before returning to Venezuela to pursue formal photography education at the Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Fotográficos (CIEF). Since 2014, Javier has contributed to various media outlets, including Diario 2001 and Playboy Venezuela, and has collaborated with Getty Images, iStock, and SOPA Images since 2020. Prior experience includes serving as a photojournalist for Bloque DEARMAS, where Javier coordinated teams for multiple publications. Education also includes training in lighting and photography at FotoArte.
