Carlo Van Niekerk is an accomplished antenna engineering professional with extensive experience in both industry and academia. Currently serving as Principal Antenna Engineer at Sonos, Inc. since December 2019, Carlo leads hardware engineering for antenna systems and collaborates cross-functionally with multiple engineering disciplines. Previously, Carlo held various roles at Sonos, including Senior Antenna Engineer, and has significant teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University, focusing on antennas and microwave engineering. Carlo's early career included positions at Cobham Satcom and Omnipless Antenna Systems, as well as research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Carlo earned both a PhD and Master's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
