Ana Maria Costa is an experienced professional in quality assurance and food science, currently serving as Sr. Manager of Quality Systems at Sociedad Nacional de Galapagos -SONGA since February 2018. Prior to this role, Ana Maria held the position of Quality Assurance Manager at Negocios Industriales Real Nirsa, S.A from March 2017 to January 2018, and worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Consultant for Samoa Tuna Processing for a brief period in 2016. Ana Maria's extensive career includes a decade as Sr. Manager of Corporate Quality Assurance at StarKist Co., where responsibilities encompassed supporting quality assurance across all manufacturing plants, overseeing HACCP protocols, and leading internal audits. Earlier roles included Quality Assurance Manager at Veconsa and a position focused on quality assurance at Ecuajugos-Nestle, concentrated on HTST and UHT processing of beverages. Ana Maria holds a Master’s degree in Food Science and another Master’s degree in Fruits and Vegetables Processing, along with a degree in Food Engineering from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral.
