Francisco Vasquez has extensive experience in education, public service, and community involvement. Since January 2019, Francisco serves as the Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the City of Somerton. In addition, Francisco has been a Science Teacher at Somerton School District since August 2015, focusing on 8th Grade Arizona Science standards. A member of the Yuma County Library Board of Trustees since 2004, Francisco has also held the position of Science Teacher at San Luis Middle School from 2001 to 2011, where responsibilities included advising the Rocket Club and coordinating gifted programs. Francisco previously served as a City Council Member for the City of Somerton from 2003 to 2007. Francisco holds a Master of Education degree from Northern Arizona University and is TESOL endorsed, fully bilingual.
