John Rezen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership positions within the healthcare industry. Starting in 1997, they served as the Ambulatory Care Director at Wake Forest Baptist Health, where they led a neuromuscular ambulatory care facility and implemented an integrated delivery system structure. In 2002, they joined the Medical College of Georgia as a Service Line Director, responsible for business development, operations, and financial performance of the musculoskeletal service line. Moving on, in 2007, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, overseeing a surgical practice with multiple specialties and locations. During their tenure, annual revenues reached $50 million. Following their time at Pinehurst, Rezen joined Value Health in 2016 as the President & CEO, where they played a key role in improving patient satisfaction and achieving a $9 million margin improvement. John also served as the Interim Chief Ambulatory Officer for a 500-physician academic health system. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Population Health at Somatus, starting in 2021. Prior to their career in healthcare management, Rezen served in the US Navy for over 26 years, including two tours as a Commanding Officer in the Medical Service Corps. John Rezen, CAPT USN (Ret), MBA, MHA, FACHE, LSSBB has a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University. John also holds a Master's Degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2020-2021, they obtained an Executive MBA (Honors) in Business Administration and Management from Quantic School of Business and Technology. Additionally, John Rezen has earned several certifications including Data Analytics from Cornell University (obtained in April 2020), HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (obtained in November 2019), Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) from the American College of Healthcare Executives (obtained in September 2008), and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Juran (obtained in May 2007).
