Thomas Markel has worked in various roles in the tech and medical industries. Thomas began their career in 2007 as a Medical Supervisor at Grifols, where they supervised the front desk and performed physicals. Thomas then moved to Halo Medical Services in 2008, where they served as Operations Manager and managed the day-to-day operations of an ambulance company, supervising up to 40 employees. In 2013, they worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Boon-Chapman, and also worked as Office Manager at Allied EMS, managing day-to-day office operations and supervising up to 12 employees. Since 2016, Thomas has been employed at Soluta, Inc., where they have held the roles of Software Architect, Senior Software Engineer, Principal Integration Engineer, and Implementation Manager.

Thomas Markel attended The University of Texas at Arlington from 2007 to 2012, during which time they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General. Prior to that, they attended Tarrant County College.
