Sarah Schechter is an experienced educator with a strong background in art and interdisciplinary teaching. Currently serving as a Design Thinking Teacher at Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, NJ, since August 2020, Sarah's previous roles include Student Art Teacher at Community Roots Charter School and Heschel School, where Sarah developed culturally competent lesson plans and organized art spaces effectively. Additionally, Sarah has contributed as an Educator at Bowne House Historical Society, creating community events and leading educational tours. Sarah's internship experiences at the Museum of Food and Drink, The Jewish Museum, Wesleyan University, and the National Holocaust Museum further showcase expertise in curatorial work, research, and teaching American Jewish history. Sarah holds a Master's degree in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in History from Wesleyan University.
