Mark Frisch is a Principal with SCB, where his role as a Technical Design Lead has resulted in an award-winning portfolio of work. His projects in aviation, multifamily residential, commercial office, science and technology, and higher education reflect a close collaboration with internationally-known engineering and energy consultants for the design of integrated, high performance buildings, including the new 2.2 million square-foot O’Hare Global Terminal at O’Hare International Airport. Mark contributes to technical and sustainability design initiatives, systems and materials research, and quality assurance/quality control programs for SCB.
Mark is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and has served on the Advisory Group and Sustainable Group of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH) and the AIA Chicago Board. He was a White House appointee to the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council’s Sustainability and Efficiency Task Force, where he led the Energy and Building subgroup. He is a visiting design critic for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a studio critic for Northwestern University’s Architectural Engineering and Design (AED) Program. He also currently serves as the President of the Shore Line Place Senior Housing Board. Mark received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a Long Fellowship recipient.
