Daniel Hawton is a Senior Software Engineer at solo.io, contributing to Istio and its documentation while serving as Release Manager for Istio 1.16. Additionally, Daniel acts as a Maintainer for various workgroups within Istio and has a background as a SUSE Rancher Support Engineer, providing technical support for Kubernetes and related technologies. Prior experience includes roles as a Linux Support Engineer at Reveal, Owner of NameItCreateIt, LLC, and an Air Traffic Control Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration, along with service as an Air Traffic Controller in the US Navy. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Western Governors University.
