Jon Dent is an experienced professional in outdoor education and student development, currently serving as the Manager of Outdoor Adventure at The University of Akron since January 2015 and as an Instructor at SOLO Wilderness Medical School since January 2020. Previous roles include Adjunct Faculty at Messiah College, where Jon taught Introduction to Mathematical Sciences, and various positions at Calvin College, including Assistant Director for Student Development and Instructor for courses in mathematics and outdoor education. Additionally, Jon has experience as an Adjunct Faculty member at Grand Valley State University and completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, documenting biodiversity along the route. Jon holds a Master's degree in Higher Education from Geneva College and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Calvin University.
