Matthias Metzen has a wide range of work experience in the engineering field. Matthias started their career as a Projektleiter at BRS Motorsport in 2011 and worked there until 2014. From 2013 to 2015, they gained experience as a Werkstudent at Bertrandt. In 2016, they joined Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter, before moving on to Kumpan electric (e-bility GmbH) as the Head Of Engineering from 2016 to 2021. In 2021, they worked as a Konstrukteur, Vorentwicklung at Ledlenser GmbH & Co. KG. Matthias'snext role was as the Head Of Development at Ducktrain from 2022 to 2023. Matthias is currently working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at SOLARWATT Germany.

Matthias Metzen obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. Matthias completed their studies at the university from 2009 to 2016.
