Ben Damiani has over 17 years of industry experience, starting as a Process Engineer at Intel Corporation in 2004 where they were responsible for medium and high current ion implant tools. Ben then worked at Solar World USA as a Sr. Process Engineer before moving on to Suniva as a Sr. Engineer, where they designed and transferred technology, coordinated business relationships, and controlled the process of phosphorus ion-implanted solar cells. Later, they worked at Semco Engineering as an Industrial Research & Development Manager, and then at xSi Solar Inc. as CTO, President, and Co-Founder of crystalline silicon solar cell manufacturing.
Most recently, Ben worked as a Consultant at their own firm, Ben Damiani Consulting, until April 2022, where they consulted for various clients. Ben is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Cherry Street Energy, starting in October 2021, and was previously the Chief Technology Officer at Solar Inventions. Throughout their career, Ben has managed the development of next-generation tools for the PV and Semiconductor industry, developed low-cost photovoltaic device structures, and ordered new manufacturing equipment while incorporating statistical process control.
Ben Damiani earned their PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology between 1992 and 2004. In 1998, they spent a year as a Guest Scientist at Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg, Germany, studying Solar Energy.
