Matthew Pressel has a diverse work experience in the lighting industry. From 1994 to 2003, they worked at Hadco (Philips / Signify) as a Product Design Engineer and later became a Product Support Manager / Supervisor. In this role, they resolved non-conforming reports and focused on cost reduction redesigns. From 2003 to 2006, they were the Director of Engineering at Philips Hadco, where they managed various engineering groups and collaborated with product marketing. From 2006 to 2018, they worked at Philips Lighting as a Senior New Product Development Engineer. In this role, they led product development from concept to production and conducted design reviews and FMEAs. In 2018, they transitioned to Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, as a Senior New Product Development Engineer. Most recently, they joined Solais Lighting Group as a Senior Exterior Product Design Engineer in 2019.

Matthew Pressel attended Clemson University from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
