Evelyn Merlo is an experienced advocate in the field of youth care and social services, currently serving as a CDAAP Advocate for the Metropolitan Police Department District 2 at Sojourner since April 2021. Prior to this role, Evelyn was a Bilingual Sexual Assault Advocate at UMOS - Latina Resource Center from March 2020 to April 2021 and a Lead Youth Care Worker at Wisconsin Community Services from May 2017 to February 2019, where responsibilities included ensuring adherence to reporting procedures. Evelyn's background also features a position as a Specialized Mentor in Human Trafficking at La Causa Social Services from October 2016 to May 2017, where focus was placed on stabilization services for vulnerable youth. Additionally, Evelyn worked as a Crisis Stabilization Worker at La Causa, Inc. from November 2013 to October 2016, providing intervention and supportive services. Evelyn holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Milwaukee Area Technical College, completed between 2016 and 2019.
