Shehan Kurera has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Shehan started their career as an Executive Sales at Stone-N-Strings in November 2013 and worked there until March 2014. In August 2014, they joined Dialog Axiata PLC as a Sales Team Lead, where they worked until May 2015. Shehan then transitioned into the insurance industry and became an Agency Leader at Softlogic Life in June 2015, a role they held until January 2020. they then moved up to become an Assistant Agency Manager at Softlogic Life in January 2020, where they worked until January 2023. Currently, they are serving as a Senior Business Manager at Softlogic Life starting from June 2022. In addition to their insurance career, Kurera also worked as a Graphic Designer at Personello from October 2009 to December 2017.

Shehan Kurera attended St. Mary's College Negombo from 1994 to 2007, where they completed their Advanced Level education in the Commerce stream in 2007.
