Rohan Thennakoon has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Rohan began their career as a Finance Executive at Janashakthi Life in 2005 and held this position until 2011. Following that, they joined AIA as a Senior Finance Executive, where they worked until 2018. In 2018, they joined IDEAL FINANCE LIMITED as an Assistant Manager Compliance, where they focused on ensuring compliance with regulations set by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Financial Intelligence Unit. Rohan left this position in 2021 to join Continental Insurance Lanka Ltd as the Manager of Enterprise Risk Management. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing financial and operational risk management, updating the risk register, and implementing the business continuity plan. Rohan is currently employed at Softlogic Life as the Manager of Risk Management, starting in 2023.

Rohan Thennakoon's education history includes various institutions and fields of study. In 1996 to 2003, they attended St. Peter's College. From 2006 to 2009, they pursued accounting and finance studies at the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka. Starting in 2018, Rohan studied at CIMA and became a Passed Finalist by 2023. Rohan also obtained a degree in Tax from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, specializing in Tax. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Peradeniya and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) from the University of Moratuwa. Currently, Rohan is pursuing a degree in Risk in Financial Services from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) and is also enrolled in Toastmasters Spanish Bilingual SF.
