Engineering VP at SoftAtHome

Marc de Courville has extensive experience in engineering and technology management. Marc currently serves as the Engineering VP at SoftAtHome, overseeing a team of 320 engineers and managing R&D for various telecom projects. Marc is responsible for the company's agile transformation and direct management of three sites. In addition, they lead the agile and devops organization transformation and is a key contributor to prpl foundation home gateway open-source stack.

Prior to SoftAtHome, Marc worked at ARCHOS as the Chief Technology Officer, managing a global technology organization of 60 individuals. Marc led R&D, product testing, and product management teams across international locations. Marc was also directly involved in software development, specifically Android/Linux based on ARM processors, and supervised technical teams in areas such as Android framework, UI and applications, Linux kernel, and multimedia/display.

Before ARCHOS, Marc worked at Motorola Labs as an Operating Lab Manager and Research Team Manager. Marc led a team of research engineers in developing multicarrier digital communication systems for wireless networks. Marc also played a pivotal role in defining broadband wireless systems and was a pioneer in proposing the high throughput IEEE802.11n Wi-Fi standard.

Marc's career began as an Associate Professor at ENST and SUPELEC, where they taught and conducted research until 2008.

Marc de Courville began their education at École Alsacienne, where they completed their high school education from 1973 to 1987. Marc then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and English at Lycée Saint-Louis, from 1987 to 1990. Continuing their education in the field of digital communications, Marc obtained a Master of Science degree from Télecom Paris between 1990 and 1993. Marc furthered their academic journey at Télecom Paris by pursuing a PhD in Digital signal processing and communications, which they completed from 1993 to 1996.
