Mahkameh Varza's work experience begins with their role as the Director of Electrical Engineering at Sofie Biosciences, where they oversaw all electrical design aspects for GNEXT preclinical PET-CT scanners. Mahkameh designed circuit boards, updated firmware, and supervised test and troubleshooting for motor control and automation. Prior to this, they worked as a Hardware/Software Design Engineer at DoorKing, Inc., and as an Electrical Engineer at Design Catapult Inc. Mahkameh also served as an Engineering Consultant at USC Ming Hsieh Institute - Department of Electrical Engineering. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Core Planner at Nokia Corporation and as an R&D Engineer at Parstel Corporation. Their work at Parstel involved managing the design and development of embedded systems for telephone switching networks and implementing new communications protocols. Mahkameh also has research experience as a Research Assistant at the Biomedical Engineering Department at Amir Kabir University of Technology, where they designed and developed a noninvasive blood pressure waveform monitoring system and worked on biological signal processing projects.
Mahkameh Varza attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension in 2011 to study Embedded Systems Design. Mahkameh then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology. Later, Mahkameh pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Amir Kabir University of Technology.
