Catherine Farmer is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Sofar Ocean since November 2024, previously holding the position of Mechanical Engineer at Zipline from March 2023 to November 2024 and Product Design Engineer at Amazon Lab126 from July 2018 to March 2023. Early experience includes positions as an Engineering Design Teaching Assistant at Duke University, where advice was provided to project teams on design and fabrication techniques, and a Powertrain Test Intern at Magna International, focusing on testing methods and efficiency improvements. Prior internships also included a role at Betabox, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineering Intern and an Education Intern at the Chester Beatty Library. Catherine holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University, completed in 2018, and graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in 2014.
