Nicola McCarthy began their work experience in 2010 as a Production Assistant at Sideline Productions. In 2011, they joined SocialTalent as the Manager of the Digital Media Division. Nicola later advanced to the role of Director of Content and Production in April 2022.

Nicola McCarthy obtained their Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Creative Digital Media from IT Tallaght, where they studied from 2005 to 2009.
