Artin Avanes is a seasoned product management leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as Senior Director of Product Management at Snowflake since August 2015, Artin has focused on new markets, regulated clouds, security, and governance. Previous roles at Snowflake included Director of Product Management, where responsibilities encompassed building and scaling product management teams and developing core products such as SQL analytics and database security. Prior to Snowflake, Artin held significant positions at Microsoft, contributing to Azure and SQL Server projects, and was involved in academic research at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Stanford University. Artin earned a PhD in Computer Science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a Master's degree in Database and Information Systems from Freie Universität Berlin.
