Lindsay VanLaningham has over a decade of experience in communications and public relations, currently serving as Supervisor of Corporate Communications and Spokesperson at SMUD since July 2018. Lindsay's freelance work with SocialMoms and Kidaround Magazine since September 2014 involves collaborating with a network of women influencers on various topics. Previously, as Communications Director for Calforests, Lindsay advanced sustainable forestry messages, and as Executive Director of The Forest Foundation, Lindsay educated Californians about the benefits of forests. Lindsay's extensive background also includes roles as Chief of Communications and Director of Communications at First 5 California, and Deputy Director of Communications at the California Environmental Protection Agency. Lindsay began the professional career as an Account Executive at Bouchard Communications Group and as a Senior Account Executive at McNally Temple Associates, Inc. Lindsay holds a degree in Journalism, Marketing, and Public Relations from California State University, Chico.
