Laura Lewis is currently the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at SMUD, where Laura has been since July 2002. Prior to SMUD, Laura worked at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP, and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. Laura obtained their Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law in 1997 after completing their undergraduate degree at the University of California at San Diego. Laura is responsible for overseeing all legal matters at SMUD and serves as a strategic resource for the organization's management team and Board of Directors.
