Joanne Flores is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in arts administration and cultural project management. Currently serving as the Senior Program Officer for Art at the Smithsonian Institution since November 2008, Joanne has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing special initiatives as part of the senior team. Previous positions include Head of Special Projects at the Smithsonian's Office of the Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture, and Director of Core Programs at the Smithsonian Latino Center, where Joanne managed key partnerships with cultural institutions and educational organizations. Earlier career roles include Senior Coordinator at Smithsonian Affiliations and International Affiliate Services Coordinator at VSA arts, focusing on collaboration across museums and cultural organizations. Joanne holds an MA in Visual Arts Administration from New York University and a BA in Economics from Boston College.
