Sara Kantarovich McGuire

Director, Operations at Smithereen Pest Management Services

Sara joined Smithereen in the Spring of 2008 as Technical Director and Corporate Training Manager. Sara finished the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Biology and M.A. in Entomology; her focus was the invasive Argentine Ant. While in school, Sara had a variety of jobs and positions from research assistant, teaching assistant, beekeeper, museum collection management, zoo keeper intern at the Cincinnati Zoo, and president and treasurer of the Entomology Graduate Student Association. She was awarded many teaching honors including the Dupont Award for Teaching Excellence in Entomology. Although her love started with insects her passion has now shifted to delivering solutions to Smithereen employees and customers. Sara also spends a lot of her time providing pest education to the community, the pest control industry, and Smithereen customers; she believes education is the best tool for partnership and progress. She holds many IDPH certifications, an Indiana certification, completed the AIB correspondence course, and is a Board Certified Entomologist.
