Syward van Wijnbergen is an experienced maritime professional currently serving as Assistant Salvage Master and Salvage Officer at SMIT Salvage since September 2019. Prior to this role, Syward held the position of Superintendent and Trainee in Offshore Energy Operations at Boskalis from August 2017 to August 2019. Earlier experience includes a role as Graduate Intern at SBM Offshore from May 2015 to March 2016 and an internship at Huisman Equipment B.V. from December 2014 to April 2015. Syward completed a Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on Offshore & Dredging Technology at Delft University of Technology, graduating in 2016. Recently, Syward obtained the STCW Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch certification from the South African Maritime Training Academy from February to September 2023.
