Takashi Ogura has worked in the robotics field for over a decade, beginning with a JSPS DC2 role at The University of Tokyo in 2006. Takashi then moved to Toyota, where they worked as a Robotics Engineer from 2008 to 2014. During this period, they also held a role as a Robotics Engineer at SCHAFT. In 2014, Ogura joined Google, where they served as a Stuff Roboticist and Senior Roboticist until 2019. Most recently, Ogura has been the Founder and CEO of Smile Robotics since 2019.

Takashi Ogura obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from The University of Tokyo between 1999 and 2008.
