Andy Hess is currently working as a Senior ML Engineer at Smile Identity, focusing on applying Computer Vision and Machine Learning to ID and document images. Prior to this, Andy held positions such as Lead AI Scientist at MEDO.ai, AI Team Lead at Jumio Corporation, and Chief Scientist at Pair. Andy's expertise lies in identity verification, fraud detection, deep learning, and augmented reality. Andy pursued advanced education at the University of Alberta, completing a Master's Degree in Computing Science and working towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the same field.
