Dr. Markus Dworak has a wealth of experience in the medical field. Dr. Markus began their career in 2008 as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. In 2010, they joined Novartis as a Therapeutic Area Head Cardio-Metabolic, where they were the National Medical Head for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, as well as the Medical lead for the German LCZ696/ ENTRESTO® launch. Dr. Markus also held the role of Therapeutic Area Head Transplantation & Infectious Diseases, where they were responsible for clinical research in transplantation and infectious diseases, and Medical Advisor Diabetes/ Cardio-Vascular Research, where they were the National project lead for clinical studies. In 2015, they founded and became the CEO of Smartsleep.
Dr. Markus Dworak began their educational journey in 2001 when they obtained a Diploma in Exercise Physiology from Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln. Dr. Markus then continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a PhD in Neuroscience/Sleep Research in 2008. Following this, they were a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from 2008-2010. In 2013, they completed a Leadership Program at SGBS Business School St. Gallen.
