Athana Thangarajah

Lead TMS Practitioner and Head of Clinical Training & Development at Smart TMS

Athana Thangarajah has extensive work experience in various roles. From February 2022 onwards, Athana worked as the Lead TMS Practitioner and Head of Clinical Training & Development at Smart TMS. Prior to this, Athana served as the Deputy Lead TMS Practitioner & Head of Clinical Training and Development at the same company from October 2021 to April 2022. Additionally, Athana worked as a TMS Practitioner at Smart TMS from January 2021 to October 2021.

Before joining Smart TMS, Athana was a Research Assistant at Queen Mary University of London from March 2020 to January 2021. In this role, Athana conducted meticulous research, interpreted scientific data, and documented procedures and results with accuracy and precision.

Prior to that, Athana worked as a Workshop Facilitator at Mind from November 2019 to November 2020. In this position, Athana led psychoeducational group therapy workshops for older adults to address issues of loneliness, isolation, depression, and anxiety. Athana also collaborated with Barnet College to develop a similar intervention for at-risk young adults.

Athana gained experience as a Desk Researcher at MyWorld Data Limited from October 2019 to April 2020. In this role, Athana validated and corrected incoming data regarding hospitals worldwide, entered data into Excel, and verified information by contacting hospitals.

Athana's earlier experience includes another Research Assistant position at Queen Mary University of London from October 2018 to February 2019. In this role, Athana collaborated with other researchers to conduct quantitative discrimination research in Zebrafish larvae. Athana designed research methods, collected and analyzed data, and presented findings at a faculty seminar.

Furthermore, Athana worked as a Behavior Coder at Revealing Reality (ESRO) from October 2018 to December 2018. In this position, Athana designed coding schemes, analyzed data, and created behavioral profiles and pen portraits for clients' presentations.

Athana Thangarajah completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Queen Mary University of London from 2016 to 2019. Following this, from 2019 to 2020, they pursued a Master's degree in Mental Health: Psychological Therapies, also at Queen Mary University of London.
