Laura Schmidt is an experienced editorial professional with a background in journalism and editing. Currently serving as an Editorial Assistant at Smart + Strong since February 2022, Laura has previously worked as a Seasonal News Reporter at Fire Island News from May 2017 to September 2022, and held the position of English Editor/Editorial Assistant at Nova Science Publishers, Inc. from February 2019 to May 2020. Additional roles include Deputy Editor at doNorth and News Reporter at Press Republican, both in 2017. Laura began a career in journalism as a News Reporter for Fire Island Chronicle from May 2015 to September 2017 and served as Arts & Entertainment and Opinions Editor at Cardinal Points Newspaper from August 2015 to May 2017. Laura earned a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Journalism with a focus on Newspaper Journalism from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, completing studies in 2018.
