Phillip Walker

Senior Researcher at SIFT

Phillip Walker is a researcher at SIFT. Phillip previously worked as a graduate student researcher at the University of Pittsburgh, researching swarm dynamics and multi-agent systems as applied to robot teams involved in tasks ranging from exploration to search and rescue. Phillip also did research on biologically inspired rules for guiding swarm behavior, and on human interaction with robotic teams being guided under these rules. From May 2010 to August 2010, they worked as a software developer intern at Perceptronics Solutions, Inc, part of a team of developers engaged in creating a system and interface for the U.S. Department of Defense to better compile information coming in to tactical commanders during overseas operations, and to better organize, display, and develop effective plans for troops on the ground using this information. From March 2008 to May 2010, they were a research assistant at William & Mary.

Phillip Walker has a Ph.D. in Intelligent Systems from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in Cognitive Science and Economics from William & Mary.
